Scott Mace writes about health, healthcare technology, other technology, and urban issues. He graduated from San Jose State University and was a senior editor at IDG publication InfoWorld for 16 years, covering topics such as database management and government oversight of technology. Since 2004, he has specialized in the field of healthcare IT journalism. Following completion of a certificate in Clinical Trial Design and Management at UC's San Diego Extension, he was senior technology editor at HealthLeaders Media. In 2015, he received the Jesse H. Neal Award for Best Technical Content for a Publication with Brand Revenue of $3M to $7M. In 2016 he was awarded the National Silver Award, Regional Gold Aware of Excellence, Feature Article, General Interest, More than $3M Revenue, Southeast Category, from the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE). Mace is currently a freelance journalist based in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.
